Salt River Rescue

Sheriffs Helicopter FOX1 rescues the stranded driver of a pick up truck that attempted to cross the flooded Salt River. Phoenix, Avondale, Peoria and Tolleson units responded to the call from the Gila River Fire Department.

Station 8 was called to the Salt River at 91st Avenue when a motorist ignored the barriers and became stuck in the flowing water. This ruverbed is normally dry, but due to winter rains, was flowing at 25,000cfs. The driver was rescued with assistance from the MCSO helicopter.
