E8 was called to a scene in Peoria where an elderly driver drove into an open sewer trench and became trapped.

The patient is treated for her injuries. The elderly patient was complaining of chest pain. After being trapped over 1 hour in the trench, a Airevac medical helicopter was called to transport the patient to the nearest trauma center
A better view of the trench and car. The trench was approximately 15 feet deep. The vehicle came to rest on its side on a a concrete sewer pipe, and a traffic signal power cable kept the vehicle from progressing forward. The power had to be secured before anyone could make entry
