Second Alarm Structure Fire

On Wednesday, June 13th, a fire was reported in a paint booth construction company.  E21 was first on the scene and made an aggressive attack, but had to retreat and declare the fire defensive.  A Second Alarm Assignment responded, including Engine, Rescue and Support 8.  Units were able to keep the progress of the fire contained to two buildings, and kept the fire from spreading to several structures to the East.  Two fire-fighters were injured on this fire. One Firefighter received back injuries while attempting to gain entry, and another Firefighter received second degree burns on his hand when the winds shifted and fire and super heated smoke engulfed the platform of Ladder 1.  This fire was fought in 116 degree temperatures, and crews were rotated throughout the incident to ensure all members were rehabilitated well.
